St. Auggie

Nine months and the endless summer keeps dragging on
For its only cold between the hours of dusk and dawn
Seventy degrees is a casual temp on these February daze
Forever trapped in this summer haze

Sun bleached long hair lay on top of my head
Skin changing back and forth from tan to red
Boardies to class is a casual thing
Shoes are only an after thought, for we are barefoot wandering

Living in the middle of a city filled with so much history
How we maneuver around all the tourists is still a mystery
We wander St. George to learn more about where we are livin
Appreciating the opportunity that we have been given

A short bike and its to the beach
With plenty of girls within our reach
Praying for swell during these east coast “winters”, or what ever you want to call it
Because when the Pier is pumping were trying to catch all of it

Nights out all seem to end the same
With trips to Pocos, where things get insane
Stumbling home and somehow finding your bed
An epic night it was, enough said

On the beach at 10th Street the vibes are always good
The outside only breaks at low tide, which is understood
Or we will head to Vilano when the tide is high
To get a punchy, short, barrel type of ride

Days turn into weeks which turn into months
All blurred together as if everything has happened at once
With every inhale of the salty Florida air
We exhale stress and slowly become unaware

Days here seem to blend together as a permanent vacation
But sometimes the best vacations are stay-cations
I have met so many people that also dream of living the same lifestyle as me
But the world is big and there is so much too see

I have been blessed with all the things I have experienced from this place
But I know I can not stay, for it is a feeling I can’t shake
With my heart on the track, and my mind on the run
I would like to say peace out St. Auggie, it sure was fun
